The UK airline will offer complimentary fast onboard connectivity by way of Starlink deal

Travelers on this carrier are set to access fast connectivity in the air without charge after a new deal involving Elon Musk's space provider.

Free and High-speed Connectivity Across the Board

The carrier announced that the complimentary, “reliable and lightning-fast” connectivity provision through SpaceX becomes accessible for customers flying economy, business, or premium cabins starting soon.

Widespread Deployment Over Multiple Flight Operators

The parent firm of the airline, the airline group, confirmed it had reached an partnership involving the satellite firm for providing internet services for more than 500 aircraft across their operators, including the Irish airline, the Spanish carrier, and the low-cost airline.

Smooth Connectivity starting at Gate to Landing

BA explained that the introduction for the technology was part of a £7bn “upgrade” initiative and will provide smooth internet service to travelers from boarding through arrival, including when traveling across seas and isolated areas.

Customers will be able to link several gadgets and won't need to need a separate access code.

“Gamechanging for us and our customers, improving onboard service onboard on BA by offering customers continuous wifi from gate to gate.”

Present Connectivity Services

Limited internet access is currently available to BA passengers across nearly all of its jets using its .air platform.

Members of the airline's reward scheme may send messages and text-only messages onboard without paying, while flyers wishing to stream audio, movies, and content during their travel if not travelling in first class can expect to be charged from £4.99 and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for one wifi package.

The provider uses a constellation of many thousands with satellites which is operated under Elon Musk’s aerospace firm.
