The Opening Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites began covering regarding Sony's platform for the first time. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that the green gaming company continues to plan to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Available Now Titles
The two games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and you should try it regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
