On Monday, the court learned call records and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test during 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most covered missing child cases and remains unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Isn't that important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the message continued.

The tribunal was informed that through emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted youth pictures to her phone in a bid to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with the police force who collated the information, told the court there "didn't appear to be any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court heard the co-defendant developed a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in the county in last December.

Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to state the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be taken seriously in the months leading up to the trip to the village, that area, in last December.

The court learned correspondence between the two accused, in last November, considering attempting to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We need to make a stand," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their home, the defendant dispatched a communication which expressed: "We're currently positioned outside the McCanns' residence with our lights out like detectives. I wanted to do this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
